When I got married, I was under the mistaken assumption that married life was going to be one long honeymoon. It didn't take me long to realize that problems can enter a marriage early on and work at the seams to weaken lines of communication and break down the enthusiasm that was once enjoyed. Often, adjusting to the little irritations in marriage can present the biggest challenges.

I've been married for over 30 years now, and my own marriage has gone through some times of peaks and valleys. During those valley times, it has been difficult to see the bright spots in being married. I finally realized that when small acknowledgements of love are given every day, a marriage begins to bloom again. Marriage was meant to be the most special of all relationships we enjoy. Sometimes we get lazy in our relationship, and we forget how to say "I love you."

I decided to write a book, Tender Thoughts for Couples, which was easy to read and filled with little nuggets of information to keep a marriage alive and well.
