Blacklight stories are collage stories made of fluorescent paper on a special black background cover stock. These stories glow-in-the-dark when room lighting is dimmed and they are under the glow of a black light. (Teachers must be able to see children.) Crack door to lighted hall or use a night light so that it will not be totally dark in the room.
Story pieces are printed on fluorescent paper. There are five colors: pink, grass green, pale green, orange, and gold. We add a white which shows as a beautiful deep smooth blue for water, birds, etc. Each story piece is numbered to match the correct page. Cut out pieces for each page and then look at pictured illustration. Glue into position (with Dennison or Avery glue stick) on to cover stock background. (Cheap glue sticks ruin pages)
Story can be displayed on metal table top tripod or leaned against a black covered box. Blacklight is placed at bottom of tripod. Prop front on a book if you need to raise the picture so all the picture is seen with the black light. The teacher then holds a flashlight close to the script to read it and removes each picture as she finishes. (Co-teacher or child can help) This kit saves hours of time and the pictures can be seen by a very large group.
